Webb sees water clouds come and go on the coldest known brown dwarf — a first beyond the solar system

With the James Webb Space Telescope, astronomers watched high water-ice clouds thicken and thin on WISE 0855 — a sunless, frozen brown dwarf just 7.5 light-years away — as it rotated. It is the first time changing water clouds have been seen on any world beyond the solar system.
